Biography
I am a licensed mental health counselor who sees a variety of clients ranging from toddlers through young adults. My background includes work in outpatient clinics, schools, and therapeutic summer programs. Finding the right fit and having a warm therapeutic relationship is key, so I aim to develop trust and comfort as we begin this journey. I operate from a client-centered lens, so I will meet you where you’re at and we will discuss whatever is most helpful to you each week. We’ll aim to build upon your existing coping skills and develop some new ones along the way.
I utilize my training in play therapy in the majority of my work. I’m a firm believer that play is the language of children! My approach tends to be interactive, whether that’s through imaginative play, games, or creating art together. We learn and grow the most when we use all of our senses and apply concepts and skills learned to the real world. I also utilize elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy in my practice.
One of my passions is working with young children and their families. I am a nationally rostered Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) provider. CPP is a modality for children 5 & under who have experienced or witnessed trauma, that works with the child and their caregiver together to help the family heal and grow following stressful events.
I enjoy hearing each client’s unique story, and look forward to helping you find what works best for you!
