Biography
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has worked with a variety of clients from children to adults. Over the past several years, my work has been focused on treating individuals with chronic and severe mental illness including addictions. I have worked in a variety of settings including individual outpatient clinics, therapeutic mentoring, adult day treatment and community based clinical services focused on helping people remain stable in the community. Through my experience, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse group of clients from many different cultures, ages, religions, and backgrounds. Prior to working as a therapist, I worked primarily with adolescents in a church setting and had the opportunity to support youth as they navigated challenges related to family, school, faith, relationships, and identity. I am knowledgeable about issues related to faith and spirituality and offer support in this area as clients direct.
My approach to working with clients is to establish a relationship built on trust so that together, we can work on your goals. I believe counseling is an incredibly helpful tool to use in your healing journey. My practice is comprehensive, holistic and utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and is always centered around the client’s needs and desires. I believe you are the expert on yourself, and I am here to walk with you while you learn more about yourself, identify strengths and do the hard work that is healing and growing.
